Demi Lovato Says She Wouldn't Include Shia LaBeouf On Disney Mount Rushmore

Shia LaBeouf doesn’t make the cut for Demi Lovato’s proverbial Mount Rushmore of Disney stars. In a recent interview for the Chicks in the Office podcast, Lovato, who released her It’s Not That Deep album last October, was asked about Raven-Symoné recently going viral with her own Rushmore picks. Naturally, this led to Lovato being tasked with naming her own. “It would definitely be Raven, Hilary [Duff],” Lovato said. “Honestly, I agreed with her answer. So, like, hers definitely resonated. But you have to even go back to the Mickey Mouse Club too, like people that were on Disney Channel prior to everyone I just named. You know, there was Britney [Spears] and Christina [Aguilera].” More discussion from Lovato and the hosts followed on whether such Disney all-timers talk should be segmented based on different eras, or iterations of the larger Disney empire. Then, Lovato had it pointed out to her that Raven had indeed included LaBeouf in her picks. “Um, I’m okay on that one,” Lovato responded. “Yeah, we can pass.” Lovato and LaBeouf, to be clear, are both alums of the broader Disney infrastructure. While the former starred in the Disney Channel original Camp Rock and its sequel, plus Princess Protection Program with Gomez, LaBeouf’s early years were defined by the network’s Even Stevens series and the Disney-distributed hit film Holes  LaBeouf—who broke through as a theatrical star in the late 2000s with hits including Disturbia, multiple Transformers titles, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Eagle Eye, and more—has made headlines for a number of personal controversies.
