DAVID ARQUETTE IN REHAB FOR ALCOHOL ADDICTION!

David Arquette's starting off the new year trying to ditch his increasingly noticeable alcohol addiction.

The actor, who recently separated from his wife Courteney Cox, checked into rehab, gossip blog PerezHilton.com reported Sunday night.

He is reportedly seeking treatment for alcohol and "other issues," the website said, but not drugs.

Since separating from the former "Friends" star, Arquette has been noticeably living it up. In November, he tweeted pictures of himself partying it up in Miami – in one he's dancing on a table in what he refers to as "a little gay dance party."

At the time, friends defended him to People.com, saying he was just trying to get over bad feelings after his breakup from his wife of 11 years.

"His answer to that is to go out and party and try to forget about everything and have fun," the source told People.

That wasn't the first time it was noticed that Arquette was acting differently than the scandal-free star he had been for years.

In an October interview with Howard Stern, Arquette said he was having a rough time with the break up from the woman he called the love of his life.

"After the first girl I slept with ... a few days later ... I was, like, crying," he said. "It was the end of all the intimacy I shared with my wife. It was like a new thing. It was like ... putting that away."

He also admitted on the show he had been drinking a little more since Cox left him.

The two announced their split officially in October.

"The reason for this separation is to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage," they said in a joint statement. "We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply."
