Dancehall Artist Chronic Law Currently In ICE Custody

Dancehall artist Chronic Law, who in 2025 once again topped YouTube stats in Jamaica with over 150 million views for the year, is currently listed as being in ICE custody. As of this writing, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement online database lists the artist, born Ackeme Campbell, as “in ICE custody.” Additional information, including the location of his detention and any potential allegations against him, was not immediately provided. sources close to” Law as saying “the case is not [as] serious as bloggers are making it out to be,” though it wasn’t entirely clear whether this was a reference to the current ICE detention, or a reported 2025 arrest in Georgia on charges including reckless driving. The latter is noteworthy at the present moment due to a mugshot connected to that arrest being widely circulated on social media amid the detention news, with some erroneously suggesting the photo is recent. It is not. Revo, a Jamaica-based news outlet, adds that it spoke with “a member of [Law’s] team” who claimed the ICE detainment occurred in Florida. For now, however, this has not been confirmed.
