We’re never going to get to old for this.
Fox moved forward with a pilot for a “Lethal Weapon” TV series, with Damon Wayans Sr. cast in the role made famous by Danny Glover.
The prospective series is based on the 1987 box office hit, which starred Mel Gibson and Danny Glover as mismatched police partners Riggs and Murtaugh and spawned three sequels.
The part of Riggs, which helped cement Gibson’s star status at the time, has yet to be cast,
Executive producer Matt Miller will reportedly write the pilot, and “The Lego Movie’s” Dan Lin and television vet Jennifer Gwartz are also on board as producers.
If “Lethal Weapon” is picked up to series, it will mark the first major recurring television acting job for Wayans since his ABC sitcom, “My Wife and Kids,” which ended in 2005.
