DAMN! THEY FOUND THE DOPE! FEDS RAID A DRUG HOUSE JUST TWO BLOCKS FROM TIME SQUARE & FIND 13 KILOS OF HEROIN WORTH $6.5 MILLION DOLLARS!

There was real drama in the Theater District as the feds busted a heroin mill two blocks from the Great White Way and seized $6.5 million in drugs.
The raid ended with four arrests - three men and a woman - and netted 13kilos of heroin inside a duplex apartment on W. 43rd St., Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget Brennan said.

The bust was the result of tips gleaned from a wider probe of heroin mills around the city, officials said Thursday.

"If our investigators were surprised by the location, you can only imagine the shock of neighbors, commuters and theatergoers when they learned of the huge criminal enterprise operating inside," Brennan said.

The four - Gregorio Conce, 48; Johnny Heredia, 51; Juan Hernandez, 48, and Luz Liriano, 35 - were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance last night and held without bail.

Lawyers for the four said they were innocent.

Liriano's lawyer, Joshua Blumenfeld, said she is a cleaning lady who happened to be at the apartment at the wrong time.

"She's absolutely innocent," he said.

An undercover agent green-lighted the raid Wednesday afternoon after spotting a suspect who was under surveillance leaving the building and hopping into a black BMW. The driver fled, but a task force from Brennan's office, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the NYPD blocked the car.

Agents used a battering ram to enter the ground-floor apartment, where a mill worker was packing heroin into glassines that sell on the street for $10, Brennan said. Two other workers were nabbed trying to escape through a concrete courtyard.
