Dame Dash Files Objection To $550K Life Rights Sale

Dame Dash’s attorney filed an objection in bankruptcy court to a sale of the mogul’s life rights that had been announced just two days before, though it had been in the works for months. The proceeds from the $550,000 sale are set to go to Dash’s creditors. In Friday’s memo, Dash’s attorney Mark S. Roher laid out a handful of issues with the sale. First, he said that anything acquired by Dash after his September 2025 bankruptcy filing should be exempt from the sale. Second, he wanted a guarantee that Dash is “not obligated to communicate or otherwise assist or participate in any manner” with the winner of the auction, Everlasting Films, LLC. “Otherwise, the Debtor will be unable to get a fresh start and could be subjected to potentially a lifetime of involuntary servitude to the purchaser,” Roher argued. Third, he wanted a carve-out for any of Dash’s “memories, experiences and thought processes that have not been recorded, transcribed or otherwise expressed” prior to him filing for bankruptcy. A hearing on the sale is set for next week, and Roher said his client “reserves the right” to raise “additional objections” at that point the trustee in charge of Dash’s bankruptcy announced that an auction of the mogul’s life rights, which had been announced the previous month, had been completed. Everlasting Films, LLC — the same company that made a $37,000 “stalking horse” bid at the beginning of the process — was the winner, paying $550,000 for exclusive, worldwide rights to Dame’s life story, as well as “100 hours of video content, photographs, and memorabilia.” On top of that, they’ll get the rights to “an unreleased, in-development documentary/film project.”
