DaBaby is accusing a music video model of attempting to shake him down for money,
DaBaby and South Coast Music Group have filed a lawsuit against Marjorie Guaracho.
Back in September 2019, DaBaby hired a production company to produce a music video for “Vibez”. The video was filmed on September 27, 2019 in Miami, Florida.
The production company hired a casty company to find background performers to appear in the video. The defendant, Marjorie Guaracho, was one of the women hired to perform in the background. DaBaby says Guaracho was informed of the video concept, signed a release and was paid $100.
DaBaby says the video featured more than 40 girls and Guaracho appeared for less than 2 seconds.
The music video was released and became very popular with over 41 million views on YouTube and helped launch DaBaby’s financially.
In January, Guaracho fired off a cease and desist letter to DaBaby’s label Interscope accusing them of stealing her performance and demanding punitive damages and attorney fees. DaBaby says his record label told him if the allegations in the letter were true, it would be a breach of DaBaby’s “lucrative contract with Interscope Records.”
