Today Chris Brown will plead not guilty in the assault case against him - but he's got a long way to go.
The Los Angeles prosecutors are pushing for Chris Brown to plead guilty to a jail-mandated sentence.
Chris Brown's legal team and Los Angeles prosecutors were close to reaching a deal where Chris would have spent NO TIME in jail. But that deal was never struck. And according to a person close to the case, prosecutors are now playing hard ball - asking for Chris to spend 30 days in jail.

The Public's opinion of Chris, especially after his "jet ski" vacation a few weeks ago, may be forcing local prosecutors to throw the book at the R&B crooner. The insider explains, "Before Chris went to Miami with Rihanna [prosecutors] were talking community service, now they're talking jail - you do the math."

Sounds like they're being pretty hard on Breezy. Wonder if Batman actor Christian Bale, who was recently charged with assaulting his mother, will get the same deal...
