CUCKOO FOR COCOA PUFFS! HALF NAKED MAN MARCHES DOWN THE HIGHWAY WITH A SWORD!

A half-naked, sword-wielding wacko busted by Indiana police Sunday had an explanation for his behavior: He was "cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs."

Police said in a statement the man - who appeared to be in his 40s - was "marching like a drum major" along busy U.S. Highway 30 in Marillville when approached by officers.

Wearing only plaid shorts and slip-on shoes, he briefly swung his 35-inch sword at an officer but immediately dropped the weapon when ordered by police, authorities said.

When an SUV stopped to avoid hitting the man and a police officer, the man attempted to get into the vehicle. Police quickly approached and ordered him to the ground.

The man was handcuffed and taken to jail, where he told officers he was "cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs."

The man, who refused to give a name and has not been identified, was charged with attempted carjacking, resisting law enforcement and possession of marijuana, police said.
