CRAZZZZZZY! SCOTTIE PIPPEN SAYS LEBRON JAMES IS THE GREATEST WHAT ABOUT MIKE!

Scottie Pippen says Michael Jordan (l.) is the better scoring threat, but LeBron James is on his way to being NBA's greatest player You'd think former Bulls star - and hoops Hall of Famer - Scottie Pippen would take Jordan's side as the debate rages over who is the greatest NBA player of all time. Guess again.
Pippen, the faithful sidekick who paired with Jordan to dominate the NBA to the tune of six championships in the '90s, made some interesting comments on ESPN Radio's "Mike & Mike" show Friday morning, the day after James' Heat beat the Bulls 83-80 in Game 5 Thursday night to advance to the NBA Finals.

"Michael Jordan is probably the greatest scorer to ever play in the game," Pippen said, "but I may go so far as to say that LeBron James may be the greatest player to ever play the game."

What?!? Would you care to expand on that, Scottie?

"Because he's so potent offensively," Pippen argued. "Not only can he score at will, but he keeps everybody involved. No guy on the basketball court is not a threat to score when LeBron James is out there."

Want more?

"Not only that, he's doing it on the defensive end."

Jordan, a five-time league MVP who averaged over 30 points per game during his 15-year career, was a nine-time selection to the NBA's first team All-Defensive squad. LeBron has twice been named to the All-Defensive first-team.

Knowing his comments caused a stir, Pippen took to his Twitter account to try and take a step back.

"Don't get me wrong, MJ was and is the greatest. But LeBron could by all means get to his level someday."

He later added: "Every NBA generation has a new set of stars and LeBron is there as the best all around player in the game."

James, who took his talents to South Beach in the offseason after seven seasons in Cleveland to pair with fellow All-Stars Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, is still seeking his first NBA title. The Heat will face the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals starting Tuesday in Miami.
