Columbus Short had some very unwelcome guests at his album release party.
The former “Scandal” star was apprehended Tuesday by bounty hunters and police officers right before he held soundcheck at a Los Angeles nightclub, TMZ reports.
Short, 32, was arrested because a judge issued a bench warrant after the actor failed to appear in court for one of his domestic violence cases, according to the site.
A video of the incident shows Short telling the bounty hunters that he was scared and didn’t feel safe in their custody.
The site reports that the bounty hunters zeroed in on Short because they believed he was about to flee the country, and expected to get a cut of his $500,000 bail if they brought him in.
The "Stomp the Yard" actor’s arrest follows several other brushes with the law last year, including an arrest for felony battery after a bar brawl and an arrest for a domestic violence incident involving estranged wife Tanee McCall.
