Ciara's future won't involve sole custody of her child.
The R&B singer was denied a court plea to receive complete guardianship of her nearly 2-year-old son Future Jr. on Tuesday, TMZ reports.
The "Goodies" artist, who shares the child with rapper and ex-fiancé Future, reportedly told the judge that the young boy's father is a bad parent who isn't involved in his son's life.
She also slammed the rapper as a bad person during the hearing, sources told the celebrity gossip site.
But the judge sided with Future — who was also present in court — and awarded him joint custody of Future Jr.
The singer, who is now engaged to Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, has waged a contentious relationship with Future for months.
Last summer, he voiced his outrage on a talk radio show after photos surfaced of Wilson pushing his son in a stroller.
"If I was a kid and my mama had a dude push me, I would've jumped out the stroller and slapped the s--t out of him," Future, whose real name is Nayvadius Wilburn, said on "The Breakfast Club."
Then in January, the Atlanta-based rapper blasted Ciara in a heated Twitter tirade, claiming he had to "go through lawyers to see babyfuture" before adding "this b---h got control problems."
Ciara sued Future a month later for $15 million for defamation after he slammed her parenting skills — a case that's still ongoing, according to TMZ.
