Looks like Tracy Morgan has lost one of his defenders.
A day after Chris Rock tweeted support for his fellow "Saturday Night Live" alum following the backlash surrounding Jordan's anti-gay rant in Nashville, he's making an about face.
"Tracy morgan is a tad off we all know that," Rock clarified on Sunday with more tweets. "So when tracy says something i usually don't take it anymore serious than i would a statement from gary busey or flavor flav . when i first heard the statement i thought it was offensive, but it also reminded me of my father saying i'll kill you if you ever bring home a white girl. But after reading everything tracy said, Wow i get it, that s--t wasn't called for and i don't support it at all."
Rock distancing himself from the "30 Rock" star could be directly related to the fact he's set to be a presenter at tonight's Tony Awards -- and he wouldn't want the Broadway community to think that perhaps he agrees with Morgan's homophobic views.
He hinted at that idea with his final tweet: "Now can i please go to the tony awards without getting my ass kicked?"
Initially, Rock defended Morgan and tweeted on Saturday that he didn't "want to live in world where Tracy Morgan can't say foul inappropriate s--t."
Another comedian who's not laughing at Morgan?
Wanda Sykes, an out lesbian.
On Saturday, she gave her two cents also on Twitter: "I do believe in free speech, but for a youth in TN or any other numerous place, Tracy just yelled, 'Fire,' in a crowded theater."
