Chris Brown thinks that the public is giving him a bad rap.
The 24-year-old singer spoke about his reputation in the October issue of Jet magazine, wondering why the public has a harder time letting go of his past indiscretions than those of other musicians.
Brown singled out hip-hop impresario Jay Z in his comments.
"No disrespect, because I'm a fan, but nobody brings up the fact that he stabbed somebody and sold drugs," Brown said, referring to an incident in which the "Picasso Baby" artist pled guilty to stabbing record producer Lance "Un" Rivera in 1999.
"He gets a pass," Brown continued.
The "Fine China" singer insisted to the magazine that's he's trying to make amends for his past, including his infamous assault of on-again off-again girlfriend Rihanna.
"You have to go through the struggle before you can get to the good part," he said. "I don't try to lash out at people or be as mad or impulsive as I used to be. I got to the point where it's only so much you can take from the master, you feel me? I've taken my fair share of lashings."
He gets a pass because he's married to Beyonce, Stupid! And you beat the livin' sh!t outta Rihanna!
