Chris Brown is involved in another lawsuit, but this time, he is the one on the offense. The Virginia singer is suing a promoter from the Philippines who he claims tried to extort him out of $300,000.
The incident dates back to 2014. Breezy was supposed to perform at a New Year’s Eve gig in the Philippines, but had to reschedule because of passport issues, reports TMZ. The rescheduled show went down in July 2015.
According to the suit, when Brown went to leave the hotel the next day, armed men wouldn’t allow him to exit. The singer was told by the lawyer for the arena that he would be arrested if he didn’t pay Jose Victor Los Banos Biongco $300,000. Brown wasn’t falling for it and called up an immigration lawyer who got him out of the country. Clearly, the whole thing left a sour taste in his mouth. Hence the lawsuit. In the suit, Chris claims he has suffered from emotional distress due to the incident.
In music-related news, Brown has been very active on the feature tip, having recently collabed on singles with the likes of Gucci Mane, Kap G, Future, WizKid and Zoey Dollaz.
He is currently working on his massive double disk offering, Heartbreak on a Full Moon. Back in May, he revealed the tracklist for the project which will feature 40 songs and appearances from Gucci Mane, Usher and more.
