IN THE STREETS & ON THE WEB

Chris Brown wants to put an end to the drama in his life.

The singer, 23, opened up about his relationship with Rihanna and how he's tried to make amends for assaulting the pop star in 2009.

"Being at that young age, I can tell you I was arrogant and definitely hotheaded," Brown told On the Air with Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday.

"Everybody has a temper, but for me, it was not knowing how to control it when I thought I had the world in my hands," Brown continued.

Since then, Brown said, he has "tried my best to be the best man I could be over the years and show her how remorseful and sorry I was for the incident."

Apparently he did something right, because his on-again, off-again romance with the “Diamonds” singer, 25, is in full swing.

"I'm eternally grateful and thankful. It's still like we're kids. I try not to be too grown and be like 'Let's have candlelight dinner every night.' I try to make sure everything is fun," Brown said. "It has to be fun, and it has to be genuine."

Brown says he has learned a key lesson from his trials.

"You can lose it all," Brown said. "And I'm not just saying fame or stardom, because that's not what it's about. I'm talking about dignity, integrity. You know, you lose yourself in a way."

Now, Brown is gearing up to release his sixth album, "X," and hoping to keep the spotlight on his music — not on his personal life.

"I'm going back to groundwork," the “Look at Me Now” singer told USA Today. "I'll show people who I am and not be a recluse. I wasn't ready to talk before. It was timing. I'm more comfortable in my own body."

The title of his record, which is due in late summer, is symbolic on a few levels, Brown explained.

"'X' is the 24th letter of the alphabet, and I'll be 24 when it comes out. When you see 'X' on a vial, it's like forbidden fruit," Brown added.

"For me, it means being able to express myself without a filter, without boundaries."

The first track from the album, "Fine China," will premiere along with its video on April 1.
