Chris Brown Denied Bail In United Kingdom After 2023 Assault Arrest

Chris Brown has found himself in a sticky situation overseas. The 36-year-old was recently denied bail after being arrested in the United Kingdom in connection with an alleged 2023 assault. Brown was arrested for allegedly assaulting music producer Abe Diaw and causing grievous bodily harm with intent back in February 2023. He has been accused of attacking Diaw with a bottle of tequila multiple times, then chasing after him and stomping on his head while he was on the ground. Authorities attempted to litigate the situation around the time it happened, but Brown had already left the United Kingdom. He will reportedly remain in custody until June 13, upon which he must enter a plea and attend a trial preparation hearing, Sky News reports. This all presents a major conflict for the Grammy winner, as his tour is set to begin on June 8 in the Netherlands, and he has a show on June 15 in Manchester. “The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against this defendant are active and that he has the right to a fair trial,”  CPS London North’s deputy chief crown prosecutor Adele Kelly said. “It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.
