Parents weren't the only ones who seemed to have a big problem with Kerry Campbell after she appeared on "Good Morning America" and admitted she gave regular Botox injections to her 8-year-old daughter, Britney.
"We need to sit down and talk with the mom, talk with the child, and see what's going on," Trent Rhorer, the head of San Francisco's Child Protective Services Agency told San Francisco television station KGO-TV. "It's pretty unusual for a mom to be injecting an 8-year-old with Botox and certainly is grounds for an investigation."
On the segment on "GMA," Campbell said she buys the Botox online from a "trusted source" and uses it to give Britney a leg up in the world of beauty pageants.
"I do the Botox myself, it's safe," Campbell told the morning show, after insisting that her daughter asked for the procedure.
When asked how it looks after she gets Botox, Britney said "It looks better."
Botox is not recommended for anyone under 18.
"There's no reason to use it for cosmetic purposes in an 8-year-old child," dermatologist Doris Day said on the show.
According to "Good Morning America," CPS is looking to see where the Botox is coming from, if her mother is licensed to give it to her and if she consulted Britney's pediatrician about the procedure.
While the segment may have generated the biggest worries for Campbell, it's not the first time she's admitting to giving her daughter aggressive cosmetic treatment. In an interview with the British newspaper the Sun, she said she also waxed her daughter's legs and bikini line.
"I know one day she will be a model, actress or singer, and having these treatments now will ensure she stays looking younger and baby-faced for longer," she insisted.
