Chantel Christie has gotten even more candid about her explosive fight with her mother Jackie Christie on Basketball Wives LA In a sit-down interview with Carlos King on his Reality With the King podcast, Chantel opened up about the emotional depths behind their heated confrontation, emphasizing that what viewers saw on screen was only part of the story. She didn’t hold back, even going so far as to say that while Jackie may have raised her, she was also her “first bully.” “When I got to that door, I could have and should have turned around,” she said. “But in that moment, I was standing toe-to-toe with who I feel like was my first bully, and I wasn’t backing down. The viral clip captured the mother-daughter duo in a tense exchange that escalated into a physical scuffle, with Jackie swinging at Chantel after a verbal back-and-forth. According to Chantel, that moment was the breaking point from years of unresolved trauma and tension.“ This wasn’t about childhood pain,” she clarified. “What I wanted was accountability for right now, at my big age, at 32, on these cameras and off. She recounted that Jackie had already walked away from a prior conversation and entered their final confrontation prepared to “play into whatever narrative” she’d already crafted. Chantel, feeling ambushed and cornered, admitted that while she wasn’t proud of how she responded, the emotions were real. Chantel also revealed the danger that came with their fight, disclosing for the first time that she has a brain aneurysm, something she says her mother has known for years. “I’ve always had migraines. At 27, I got the tests and that’s when they found it … on the right side of my brain,” she shared. “So when you, my own mother, swing at my head? That’s not just triggering. That’s life-threatening. ”Though some fans questioned Chantel’s reasoning for pushing her mother, she explained the adrenaline of the moment. “She balled up her fist and aimed for my head. I ducked, fell into the cameraman and that’s how my finger ended up bleeding,” she said. “Her intention was to probably sock me in between the washer and dryer, but that’s not the way that that happened. “I didn’t come into this season to fight my mama. But I also didn’t come here to lie for her either,” she concluded.
