Performer Chance the Rapper has been hospitalized and forced to pull out of a charity event performance scheduled for Monday night.
The Chicago artist was hospitalized for unknown reasons, Billboard magazine reported.
He was slated to appear at Terminal 5 in Manhattan for the “Night for NYC” event hosted by the Robin Hood organization.
The nonprofit took to Twitter on Monday afternoon to announce that artists Mark Ronson, Joey Bada$$ and Anderson .Paak would be filling in for the rapper, born Chancelor Bennett.
Joey Bada$$ soon sent out wishes for a speedy recovery to the “Angels” rapper.
“Looks like I’ll be performing at Terminal 5 tonight in NYC covering for my brother @chancetherapper get well bro I got you!” he tweeted.
The 23-year-old Bennett previously canceled a performance during Coachella 2014 due to what he wrote on his website was “a combination of the flu virus and tonsillitis.”
The hip hop star is known best for teaming up with Kanye West on "Ultralight Beam." On Thursday, he debuted his new single "Blessings" while on the "The Tonight Show" and announced his next mixtape "Chance 3" is due out on May 13.
