Chance the Rapper and his wife, Kirsten Corley, are divorcing after five years of marriage. Corley filed for divorce from the rapper (born Chancelor Bennett). The filing came eight months after the couple formally announced they’d split in a joint statement. “After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways. We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together,” the post from April read. The filing didn’t note whether or not Corley is requesting child support for their two daughters, Kensli (9), and Marli (5), but they did previously confirm that they’d co-parent their children. Corley and Bennett met when he was 9 at an office party he attended with his mom. They reconnected in 2012 and began dating soon after. They welcomed Kensli in September 2015, but briefly split the following year after Corley filed a petition to declare Bennett the father of her child to obtain court-appointed child support, She withdrew the motion in January 2017 once she and Bennett reconciled. He later thanked Corley and their daughter at the 2017 Grammys.
