Carmit Bachar Is Furious She 'Was Not Contacted' About the Pussycat Dolls Reunion

The Pussycat Dolls are back — but some fans have noticed that the pop hit-making ensemble is short a few members for their big reunion the group announced their return, with a new single called “Club Song.” The song featured members Nicole Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts, and Kimberly Wyatt, who were part of the group’s classic line-up. Noticeably absent were Carmit Bachar, Jessica Sutta, and Melody Thornton. On Tuesday, March 17, Bachar took to Instagram to share a message to fans, explaining why she didn’t come back for the group’s latest reunion. “In light of recent developments, I feel it is important to speak honestly and respectfully. I was not contacted regarding the group’s decision to move forward, and I learned of these plans at the same time as the public,” Bachar wrote. “Given my history with the brand, having been part of its foundation long before its commercial debut and instrumental in the connections that led to the record deal… I would have appreciated direct communication. ”Pussycat Dolls was originally conceived as a neo-burlesque dance troupe by choreographer Robin Antin in 1995. Some of the original members included Kasey Campbell, Kiva Dawson, Antonietta Macri, Erica Breckels, Katie Bergold, Erica Gudis, and Lindsley Allen. Bachar, Sutta, Wyatt, and Roberts were also rotating members of the dance troupe The group burst onto the music scene in 2005 with their smash hit “Don’t Cha,” with Scherzinger serving as the group’s lead vocalist she shared that her absence this go-around was “disappointing,” but expressed gratitude for her time in the group. “I believe the legacy of any group is built not only by those seen on stage, but also by the collective contributions and shared vision that brought it to life.” Bachar also said that she is “especially thankful to the LGBTQ+ community” as she and the Dolls performed at various Pride events throughout the height of their career. The group previously attempted a reunion back in 2020 with their single “React,” on which Scherzinger, Roberts, Sutta, Wyatt, and Bachar were featured, with Thornton absent. A tour was planned, but later canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as a legal dispute between Scherzinger and Antin regarding the terms of the group's business ventures. Antin and Scherzinger reached a confidential settlement in 2025. Bachar assured fans that her absence from Pussycat Dolls this go-around doesn’t mean we’ve scene the last of her. “Looking ahead, I’ll be sharing new creative projects, including upcoming music, visual work, and an exciting collaboration with a television and music industry icon… soon!” she wrote.
