Cardi B’s Sister Slams Critics Of Rapper’s Pregnancy

Cardi B‘s sister Hennessy Carolina is not here for anyone criticizing the rapper’s pregnancy and the effect it might have on her career.

“Why is anyone saying anything so mean to someone? A baby is a blessing,” Carolina, 22, told People in an interview released Wednesday. “Why would you talk about it like it’s a bad thing? My sister is such a good person, I wouldn’t want nobody to talk bad about her. It really hurts. But I’m not gonna let them stress me out anymore. I’m tired of it!”

The “Be Careful” MC previously lamented the online speculation, especially by other women, that her pregnancy would put a stop to her promising career.

“It just really bothers me and it disgusts me because I see a lot of women online like, ‘Oh, I feel sorry for you, your career is over,’ and it’s like, ‘Why can’t I have both? Why do I have to choose a career or a baby?’” the rapper said.

“I have to prove [to] people that a baby won’t stop me … I just wish that I had a little bit more time for me to think for me,” she continued. “I didn’t like that people [were] harassing me. I had a whole bunch of friends calling me like, ‘Why did I have to find out [about your pregnancy] on the internet?’ … It’s something so precious and private to me, and I didn’t even get to keep that for myself.”

Thankfully, Cardi is only focused on the positive, especially after hitting No. 1 with debut album “Invasion of Privacy” and revealing her baby bump on “Saturday Night Live” after months of hiding it under her outfits.

“I know she’s happy,” Hennessy said. “No more people talking about her. I know she’s happy and she’s free. She can go out and eat food, not hide what she wants to wear.”
