Cardi B Claps Back At Non-Payment Lawsuit By Mansion Owner With Receipts

Cardi B was recently sued for allegedly not paying the rental fee to use a mansion for her “Like What” video shoot, which she has denied. According to the 11-page complaint filed by the mansion’s owner, Cardi and Offset are accused of “devising a plan” to use the home “without paying full market value.” The legal doc states that the couple booked the house anonymously “under the false pretense” it would be used for a TikTok video. However, it says Cardi and Offset filmed a full-length music video instead, using the property’s “distinctive architecture” as the “centerpiece” of the production. The owner of the mansion is seeking $35,000 in damages. Cardi has vehemently denied accusations made against her by showing off receipts that she did pay the “full market price” for the rental space. “We paid those people $10,000 IN CASH to rent the property for a whole 24 hours that same day 6am to 6am the next morning and we went over by ONE hour which we paid overage fees to the realtor for in March,” she went off on X. “There was cameras all over and both the realtors and the owners was there the ENTIRE time. “I got pics and videos of them on set!!” she continued. “Now they wanna finesse us trying to say we told them it was a TikTok video when that was nowhere in the contract and like they didn’t hear the whole song playing and see how long we was shooting….Why would it take us 24 hours to shoot a TikTok? The problem is people wanna find loopholes and get over but IRON YOUR BEST SUIT BI**H I’ll see you in court!!!!” Cardi also included screengrabs of text threads between her and Offset arranging the production day, as as well as a $4,500 transaction to the realtor. In another X post, she clarified that the realtors who represent the house have been trying to settle the matter for months, as it’s the “greedy” owners who are trying to “finesse” her and her Offset. “And this is not the realtors fault…they been trying for months to settle this. Its them greedy owners wit their ugly a** house,” she wrote. The lawsuit comes as Cardi B recently gave birth to her third baby with Offset earlier this month, after filing for divorce from the former Migos rapper for a second time, last month.
