Once I arrived in campus, I was excited because it was a new beginning for me. I was tired of the put-downs, and bullying behavior that I had endured in high school. I envisioned college as the place I would start afresh from the craziness that had engulfed my educational journey in the four years. My bestfriend since elementary school had become popular in high school, and she decided that I was not worthy of her friendship anymore. Suddenly, I became someone that she could pick on with her new friends on a bad day. I thought about shifting schools, but I did not want my parents to learn that I was struggling in school.
I would pay for essays sometimes because I arrived home depressed. I preferred to lock myself in my room crying because of the bullying I experienced. I did not believe in telling the school counselor because she would use our cases as examples whenever she held class talks. Although she kept our names anonymous, she still placed a target on our backs because the bullies had a small pool of students who they bullied. We decided to form a club for students who went through the challenges so that we could have a voice against it.
