BRONX TEACHER LOSES IT & CUTS HIMSELF IN FRONT OF THE CLASSROOM!

A popular Bronx teacher went berserk Thursday, throwing a chair across the classroom and cutting himself after a student’s behavior set him off, sources said.

Peter Bogolub, a history teacher, began his meltdown about 12:15 p.m. when a student misbehaved during class at Bronx Engineering and Technology Academy in Marble Hill, sources said.

Students were moved to another room after Bogolub’s meltdown and did not see their teacher hurt himself.

“A teacher at Bronx Engineering and Technology Academy expressed anger and distress in front of his classroom today,” said Education Department spokesman Matt Mittenthal. “Students were moved to another room and are safe, and the teacher was taken to the hospital for medical attention.”

Bogolub was taken to North Central Hospital.

Police said he suffered an anxiety attack and had trouble breathing. No criminality is suspected.

A school janitor was quickly dispatched to the classroom to clean the teacher’s blood.

“He kind of lost it a little bit,” said one fellow teacher at the school. “He was taken away on a stretcher.”

The Terrace View Ave. high school’s principal, Karalyne Sperling, declined to comment.

Students in the halls during the incident said they were ushered into classrooms, which officials quickly locked down.

“I really didn’t expect that to come from him,” a student named Jamie said of Bogolub.

He said he saw the popular teacher earlier in the day and noticed nothing unusual.

Another student said Bogolub went the extra mile for kids.

“He helped us after class," the student said. “He’s the reason I passed my Global History Regents, actually.”

The incident spurred students to chant “Free Bogolub” during lunch Thursday.

“Everybody was cool with him,” Jamie said.

At Bogolub’s apartment building, super Luis Nunez said he was shocked by the incident.

“They are like my family; it surprises me,” Nunez said of Bogolub, his wife and three kids. “What you’re telling telling me, I can’t believe you.”

“He’s very respectful, very quiet,” Nunez added.
