Boxer Claressa Shields is discussing how her fame has affected her relationships with family and close friends. During a chat with Art Of Ward, the Olympic gold-medalist emotionally revealed that many of her relationships have taken a hit due to the entitlement of those around her. “Listen, I done bought every last one of my siblings a car,” she explained. “Bought my mama a house, my mama two cars, my daddy a car, help him with his bills, help mama with her bills, help my sister take care of her three kids, her three kids lived with me! I go to sit with the teachers, go to parent-teacher conferences, I do all this stuff, and it seem like the more you do, the more that they don’t like you Honing in on her rocky relationship with her sister, Shields teared up as she continued, “I overlooked how much my sister, you know, started disliking me. I didn’t know. I never done nothing to her. I don’t want to get emotional, but me and my sister got the same mama and the same daddy and we grew up together…You work so hard to make all this money, and to have a good life for yourself, and then the people you want to share it with, they just change on you. And it’s hurtful because people say, ‘It’s lonely at the top,’ but damn, this lonely? She later dropped a gem when she added, “People don’t want what you give them, they want what you have, and that there, you can’t have. You can’t have what I done worked hard for.
