Boosie Badazz has accepted a plea in his federal case the Louisiana rapper appeared in court on and pleaded guilty to one federal count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was arrested in May 2023 after police searched a vehicle he was riding in and found two guns. At the time, law enforcement, watching social media, noticed the 42-year-old had a gun on his waist, and proceeded to use a helicopter to track down his vehicle. Boosie was then pulled over, and a search of the car led to the discovery of the weapon.Initially, U.S. District Judge Cathy Bencivengo dismissed the case last year following a 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, with the reasoning that it was unconstitutional to prohibit convicted felons who served sentences for nonviolent drug offenses from possessing firearms. Her decision was then overturned by a larger panel. Boosie is set to be sentenced by Judge Bencivengo in November prosecutors agreed to drop a second gun charge and are seeking a two-year prison sentence.
