Bobby Shmurda is set to be released from prison on Tuesday, and the “Hot Boy” rapper reportedly wants to just spend some quality time with family and eat good food.
Shmurda’s mother, Leslie Pollard, told TMZ the 26-year-old wants to enjoy an “intimate dinner” and then get back to his first passion: music.
He will also meet regularly with his parole officer as he’ll reportedly be on parole until 2026.
The “Shmoney Dance” rapper was sentenced to seven years in prison in 2016 after he pleaded guilty to conspiracy and weapons possession charges as part of a plea deal.
At the time, he had already spent two years in prison in lieu of a $2 million bond.
Shmurda alleged in court the day of the sentencing that his attorney, Alex Spiro, “forced” him to take the plea deal, but the judge declined to have the case adjourned.
However, in January, law enforcement sources told TMZ the Department of Corrections bumped up his release from New York’s Clinton Correctional Facility to Feb. 23, which is 10 months early than his previously scheduled release, after evaluating his “behavior and participation in prison programs.”
Shmurda was initially arrested in December 2014 in connection with a drug and firearm rings.
