#BlameDrake Becomes A Trending Topic On Twitter After Serena's Loss

Drake is getting a bad rap for his gal pal Serena Williams’s crushing U.S. Open loss ended the tennis champ’s quest for a calendar grand slam.

The Canadian hip hop star has become a trending topic on Twitter with #blamedrake after Williams was upset by unseeded Roberta Vinci Friday—largely because steamy photographs that surfaced last month confirmed a romantic involvement betweent the two celebrities.

The steamy pics taken at swanky Italian eatery Sotto in Cincinnati, Ohio last month that were posted on TMZ was photographic evidnece of a relationship between 28-year-old Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham, and 33-year-old Williams.

That’s an issue, at least in the minds of Drake detractors on social media, because the “Lord Knows” rapper has a history of backing the losing side in a wide range of professional sports. He visited LeBron James’ Cavaliers last year, before Cleveland lost in the NBA Finals to the Golden State Warriors.

He also recorded a song in quarterback Johnny Manziel’s honor—before the Cleveland Browns bust’s career imploded.

Had Serena Williams won, she would have had a shot at winning the first calendar Grand Slam of tennis in 27 years.
