Big Sean And The Alchemist Joint Album In The Works

Big Sean just dropped his latest album Better Me Than You, but in an interview with Complex, he hinted that he’s working on a full-length collaboration with the legendary producer. When asked how he deals with the challenges and stresses of being a famous musician which seemingly got the best of him in an emotional Instagram Live last week — Sean said: “I have been burnt out lately because I have chosen to take so much on by doing multiple music projects. So what I mean by that is my album, and then also cooking up with Alchemist too.” He also revealed that he’s been working on a few “ideas” for his and girlfriend Jhené Aiko‘s Twenty88 duo, one of which may be added to Better Than Me You alongside a couple of high-profile collaborations that didn’t make the cut. Fans were given a glimpse of what a Big Sean and The Alchemist project may sound like on Better Me Than You, with the pair teaming up for the bonus song “Together Forever.” Featuring serene, spiritual production from Uncle Al, the track finds Sean Don fending off female attention and staying faithful to his lady, making it one of the few love songs committed to an Alchemist beat. “Together Forever” was only their second collaboration following “Palisades, CA,” from The Alchemist’s joint album with Larry June, The Great Escape. What makes a potential Big Sean and The Alchemist joint album even more exciting is the latter’s history of working with MCs from the Motor City, including Eminem, Royce Da 5’9, Danny Brown, Boldy James, Elzhi and Obie Trice.
