Beyoncé Sues Company Called FEYONCÉ For Making Bootleg Merchandise

A company selling merchandise featuring the word "FEYONCÉ" is causing "irreparable" harm to Beyoncé, who claims its T-shirts and mugs infringe on a trademarked version of her name.

Some FEYONCÉ gear, the multi-platinum artist alleges in a new Manhattan federal lawsuit, even features the phrase "he put a ring on it."

The items clearly crib lyrics to her hit song "Single Ladies," which is about a woman who leaves her boyfriend because he won't marry, Beyoncé's lawyers claim.

The company, which runs www.feyonceshop.com, is using the FEYONCÉ mark — "which is nearly identical to Plaintiffs' famous BEYONCÉ trademark," so that people "falsely associate Beyoncé with these unauthorized products."

Feyonce, Bey further alleges, uses "same font, color and style" as her Beyoncé trademark.

Beyoncé has sent letters to Feyonce asking that it stop selling the quirky gear but the company hasn't done so — and the company has even applied to trademark "FEYONCÉ" and "FEYONCE."

FEYONCÉ's "deceptive conduct, Beyonce alleges, "is harming the public in addition to harming Plaintiffs and their brand."
