Beyonce Drops Surprise Video For ‘Formation’

She just might be a black Bill Gates in the making.

Or so says Beyonce in “Formation,” a brand-new single and music video she unexpectedly gifted to fans just one day before her Super Bowl performance.

She'll also perform the new tune during her apperance at the halftime show, Entertainment Tonight said,

The raspy, gritty “Formation,” released without fanfare Saturday afternoon on both Jay Z’s Tidal streaming service and Beyonce’s YouTube account, features flawless choreography, a hook that loops the phrase “I slay,” and dancing cameos from the megastar couple’s 4-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy.

The video contains not-so-subtle imagery from the Black Lives Matter movement — including Beyonce singing from atop a floodwater-submerged New Orleans cop car, a young black boy and riot gear-clad police mutually surrendering with their hands up, and graffiti that reads “Stop Shooting Us.”

Tidal also announced Friday that it would donate $1.5 million from its October charity concert to Black Lives Matter and other social justice organizations.

The Beyhive had been abuzz in recent weeks following social media reports that the singer was taping a video in the Big Easy.

And just one week ago, the 34-year-old singer was accused of appropriating Indian culture for wearing a sari in Coldplay’s new “Hymn for the Weekend” video.

“Formation” is free to stream and download exclusively on Tidal. Beyonce has not yet confirmed whether she'll perform it during Sunday's halftime show.
