Beyoncé and Lady Gaga are dominating the diva race in nominations for 2009's MTV Video Music Awards.
According to People.com, the two superstar singers have nabbed nine nominations each, including video of the year and best female video.
"I'm excited and honored to be tied for most nominated for the VMAs," Beyoncé told the Web site. "I've been blessed this year to have 'Single Ladies' become a video people really connected with and responded to."
"I've spent so much time watching all the great versions people created all around the world. It's beautiful to feel you touch people and bring a song to life with a video."
This year's VMAs will take place at locations throughout New York City on September 13th, and include a return to Radio City Music Hall.
Comedian Russell Brand is back for seconds and will bring his oddball Brit humor as the awards' host. Featured presenters include Katy Perry, Ne-Yo and Chace Crawford of "Gossip Girl."
Live performances will include appearances by Taylor Swift and Pink.
"Last year I got to jump out of a window at the VMAs in L.A.," Pink told People.com. "This year I can't wait to blow the roof off Radio City in New York."
