Death Row Records rose to prominence during the golden era of hip-hop back in the '90s. Two decades later, BET reveals the Death Row Chronicles, which premieres with part one and two on Tuesday, February 20 at 10 p.m. ET. BET dives deep into the notorious label's vault with never-before-seen footage and a first-hand interview from someone who witnessed the murder of Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas in 1996.
Death Row came through with a brash mentality led by their hostile CEO, Suge Knight. He managed to assemble a legendary roster that released multi-platinum albums from Dr. Dre, Tupac and Snoop Dogg, to name a few. Suge wasn't a businessman, but his forceful manner led to the label raking in an estimated $100 million at its peak.
No matter your thoughts on their style, the label's legacy cannot be denied -- and the stories will live on forever from one of the most interesting times in hip-hop.
