BEHEADED MAN FOUND IN AN INDIAN TEMPLE MAY HAVE BEEN A HUMAN SACRIFICE TO KALI!

A beheaded man found in remote India is believed to have been the victim of a "human sacrifice."
According to the Indian Express, the body of a 25-year-old was discovered outside a temple to the goddess Kali, several miles outside the town of Bolpur in West Bengal.

"This man has been sacrificed to propitiate the gods," said local official Kalyan Mukherjee, the Times of London reported.

He also indicated the body was smeared with red vermilion, a kind of paint, with flowers and incense sticks scattered around.

The body was found near the altar in front of the temple, and was discovered by a priest who went there to pray in the early morning hours, the Indian Express reported.

"The slain torso had new clothes on the body. His hands were not tied. There was no indication of any resistance on the victim's part," an officer told the newspaper.

Police dogs led investigators to a home in a nearby village, and one person has been "picked up" by police.

Birbhum SP Rabindranath Mukherjee told the Indian Express, " It seems to be a case of a human sacrifice."

The incident occurred during the Makar Sankranti, an event celebrated throughout India which honors the changing of the seasons, and often times includes primitive rituals.

Kali, a religious figure featured in films such as "Gunga Din" and "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom," is a multi-armed Hindu goddess whose name means "the black one." Although often associated with death, she is also seen as a symbol of life, as well as change.

Other incidents of alleged human sacrifices, two involving young children, have been reported in India in recent months, The Times reported.
