Beanie Sigel Released From Hospital A Month After New Jersey Shooting

Rapper Beanie Sigel is home again nearly a month after he was shot in the stomach.

The 40-year-old was gunned down in New Jersey on Dec. 5. The Jay Z protégé was discharged over the weekend, NBC Philadelphia reported.

Pleasantville Police have not named a suspect in the shooting.

Cops are still investigating several persons of interest, including Sigel's sister-in-law.

Sigel's lawyer maintained the Philadelphia-based rapper was not the intended target. The motive of the shooting is not clear.

Sigel, whose real name is Dwight Grant, was shot once before during a 2006 bank robbery in Philadelphia.

In 2003, he was charged with attempted murder after he allegedly fired 6 bullets into a Philadelphia nightclub, hitting a man in the foot and stomach. He was later acquitted.

Just two weeks before he was due to enter prison for tax evasion in 2012, he was arrested on weapons and drug charges.

He was released from a federal jail in August.
