Arsenio Hall is returning to late-night TV.
He’s signed for a syndicated show with CBS Television Distribution to begin airing in the fall of 2013, it was announced Monday.
It’s familiar territory for Hall, who hosted “The Arsenio Hall Show” between 1989 and 1994. That late-night syndicated talk show was produced by Paramount Domestic Television, which is now CBS Television Distribution.
“It’s an amazing feeling to be going home to my old friends and colleagues and firing up our night thing,” Hall said in statement. “Let’s get busy … Again!”
Last month, Hall drew attention by winning “Celebrity Apprentice,” beating out Clay Aiken. His new show will air on 17 Tribune stations, including WPIX in the New York market, at 11 p.m
“We’re excited to welcome Arsenio back to the family and partnering on his new late-night syndicated talk show,” said John Nogawski, president of CBS Television Distribution, in a statement. “Arsenio had a substantial following with his previous late-night show, and that same 18-34 audience is now right in the middle of the late-night core audience of 35-54.
“Years ago, he transcended time periods and attracted a crossover audience while bringing a fresh perspective to late night,” Nogawski said. “That same need in the market exists today as when we originally launched. We are looking forward to the same success with Arsenio’s seasoned expertise and appeal in this genre.”
