André 3000 Releases Shirts To Benefit Movement For Black Lives

André 3000’s statement-making jumpsuits from OutKast’s 2014 reunion tour are getting an update for a good cause.

On Wednesday, the 45-year-old Atlanta artist released a collection of T-shirts emblazoned with many of the same messages seen on his iconic stage outfits, including, “can one rest in peace & violence?” and, “across cultures, darker people suffer most. why?”

All net proceeds from the 13 limited-edition shirts, which are priced at $75 and available for the next three days only, will go to the Movement for Black Lives, an organization fighting to end police brutality and racial injustice.

“Something very important is happening all over the world and it is happening to all of us. How does it make you feel?” André 3000 asked in an Instagram post announcing the launch. “This is only one piece in the war against systemic racism. It takes all of us. BLACK LIVES MATTER… at a minimum.”

The “Hey Ya!” rapper’s initiative is just one of the ways fashion is supporting the Black Lives Matter movement; companies ranging from Nike to Gucci have pledged donations to organizations supporting the black community, while streetwear labels like Fear of God and Online Ceramics have released special designs dedicated to (and benefiting) the cause.
