Alicia Keys says she’s gone makeup free, but the singer may be smudging the truth.
Dotti — Keys’ one-named makeup artist — explained to W Magazine that the “Voice” judge doesn’t just roll out of bed and head for the big red chair. She does actually wear some makeup on camera.
Dotti says that most of the singer’s face is enhanced with lotions, serums, oils — and sometimes — an ice stick.
“Right now, we’re doing a lot of ice work to tighten skin, bring the blood to the surface. To basically give it the pop that you need.”
When Keys is on screen or performing, however, there’s usually a brush of make-up. Dotti fills in her brows, applies anti-aging serum, and “poreless face definer mattifier.”
Keys has never said she would be going makeup free forever.
She told the “Today” show, “I love my lip gloss, I love my blush. It's not about that.”
The singer’s decision to go makeup free has inspired other celebrities to do the same, including “Today” co-host Tamron Hall — who removed her make-up on camera — Gabrielle Union, and Gwyneth Paltrow.
