The SoHo penthouse Alicia Keys bought from Lenny Kravitz in 2010 just hit the market for $17.95 million, a good $10 million more than Kravitz paid for the 6,000-plus square-foot loft in 2000.
The 16-room pad at 30 Crosby St. has five-bedrooms, a 3,000 square-foot terrace, floating staircase, and glass-encased dining room. Keys and husband Swiss Beatz, a rapper, painter, and producer, lived in the giant loft for two years, paying $14.5 million.
In one room, a Ducati motorcycle stands in front of a photograph of two elephants sandwiching a scantily clad woman holding a red balloon. Accessible through a dressing room and outdoor terrace, the master suite has a personal spa with a duel nozzle shower surrounded by beige and brown tile. The living room fireplace is encased in floor-to-ceiling marble. Of course, the state-of-the-art sound system rocks.
“This is one of the premier apartments in all of SoHo,” says Sotheby’s International listing broker Eric Malley, who runs a small team at the upscale brokerage. “It’s on a quiet stretch of Crosby St. with cobblestone out front and small boutiques across the street. Tourist foot traffic is low. The views here from the terrace are breathtaking. This is a pre-war building in SoHo with great outdoor space and incredible views. It’s coming on the market at just the right time.”
