It's on … again! "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" soundtrack has a group of musical superheroes leading the way.
Alicia Keys and Kendrick Lamar collaborate for the Pharrell Williams- and Hans Zimmer-produced song, "It's On Again," available Tuesday on iTunes.
The song's lyrics include: "I am a freedom fighter/The name that history wrote/And even through disaster/Eye of the tiger for hope/I'm trying to find my way back/There's no day off for heroes/And even when I'm tired/Go is the only word I know."
"We were looking for just the right song to close out the film," director Marc Webb said in a March statement when the song was first announced, "a song that would be upbeat and exciting, but also contain a note of foreboding. Alicia's song, 'It's On Again,' is the perfect end note."
The track will close the action-packed adventure flick, which hits theaters in the U.K. on April 18 followed by its U.S. debut on May 2. The soundtrack also features songs from the Neighbourhood, Pharrell, Alvin Risk and LIZ.
"I'm very excited to be a part of such a powerful collaboration with Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams and Hans Zimmer," Keys, 33, said in a statement in March.
"This is the next chapter in the 'Spider-Man' legacy and we really feel 'It's On Again' captures the experience, the story - and most importantly - the meaning behind the film, which is that we all have the potential to be extraordinary," she added. "There's a little bit of superhero in all of us."
