Al Sharpton’s Daughter An Hour Late To Her Own Wedding

She may have a $5 million injured ankle — but that didn’t stop the Rev. Al Sharpton’s daughter from walking down the aisle Sunday.

Dominique Sharpton, 30 — who has been suing the city for seven-figures over an alleged injury she suffered on a street — successfully made her way to the altar to wed fellow activist Marcus Bright, 33, in a public ceremony at the Greater Allen AME Cathedral in Queens.

The Sharptons invited one and all to the afternoon nuptials because “the community watched [Dominique] grow up.” But many attendees wound up looking at their watches as it started more than an hour late.

Once it began, a beaming Al proudly walked with his daughter to the alter. As they paced down the isle, Dominique showed no hint of a limping or any trouble pulling the impressively long lace train for her scoop-necked gingham gown.

Attendees included former congressman Charles Rangel and current Public Advocate Tish James, as well as family of NYPD shooting victims Amadou Diallo and Sean Bell.
Dominique and Bright will not be taking a honeymoon, publicist Rachel Noerdlinger said.

The groom is an activist, who works at a group associated with her father’s National Action Network.

“He has two jobs, she has a job. They don’t have the time,” she said.

The late start for Dominique’s wedding is not the first time she has been tardy. The younger Sharpton has missed four recent appointments to give a deposition in her ongoing personal-injury suit against the city.

Dominique, who works for a group affiliated with her father’s National Action Network, filed her $5 million claim against the city in 2015, alleging she permanently injured her ankle on a faulty Manhattan street.

Afterward, however, she posted photos to social media of herself climbing a mountain in Bali.

She missed four depositions, and Judge Alexander Tisch threatened to toss the case when her lawyer didn’t show up for a May hearing.

The case is due back in court in November.
