IN THE STREETS & ON THE WEB

Adrien Broner has become known for both his dominant boxing abilities and his legendary post-match interviews. He didn't disappoint in either respect Friday night. Fresh off a win over Ashley Theophane of boxing's famed TMT (The Money Team), Broner took the opportunity to call out the retired pound-for-pound boxing king, and his former mentor, Floyd Mayweather.

"Me and Floyd, he got to see me," said Broner (32-2, 24 KOs). "Point blank, period. Now I'm a man at the end of the day. I'm a man at the end of the day. I come from the streets, the trenches, man, from the bottom, from nothing. I'm talking about water and corn flakes, I come from nothing, and I will never let a man disrespect me like that. So he gotta see me. I don't care if we spar or we fight, let's get it on."

The two had exchanged verbal jabs leading up to the fight. Mayweather joked that Broner's initials stood for "Always Broke" and called him a "snake."

"We know he ain't never seen eight figures or nine figures," Mayweather said. "He has barely ever seen seven figures. It could be safe to say that one of my cars cost more than he made his whole career."

Broner caused some buzz leading up to the fight when he weighed in at 104.4 pounds and refused to cut down under 140; he was consequently stripped of his WNBA junior welterweight belt. Though Theophane took an L on the grandest stage of his career, he did receive $50,000 of Broner's purse because Broner was overweight.

Broner (26) is clearly in his prime, and Mayweather (39) retired after defeating Andre Berto in September, so it doesn't seem likely this fight could actually happen, but one thing is for sure: it would draw astronomic pay-per-view numbers.
