Adidas Distances Itself From Kanye West’s Broken NYFW Yeezy Boots

These boots were not made for walking.

After models at Kanye West's fashion show on Wednesday were left wobbling down the runway on their ankles due to broken heels, his partner Adidas decided to distance itself from the faulty boots, Women's Wear Daily reported.

West's team says the stiletto boots will undergo "rigorous" quality control before being put out to the masses, but the German sportswear company wants the public to know that those boots weren't a part of the brand's collaboration with Ye.

"As is the case with many fashion shows, the designs presented on the runway are often times still in the sample, prototype stage," West's camp said in a statement to WWD.

"We take quality control very seriously and will ensure that these models undergo further, rigorous trials before reaching the consumer."

The "Famous" singer was widely criticized this week for his fashion show, which some called "disastrous," as models were spotted sitting in the grass due to the heat and dragging themselves across the catwalk.

The poor display of practicality won't stop buyers from purchasing the Yeezy line, according to WWD.

In the past, West's sneaker collaboration with Adidas has been highly successful. The Yeezy Boost style has sold on the secondhand market for more than $5,000 from buyers vying for the coveted shoe.

During this show, however, Kanye only sent two models down the runway in sneakers — the other 38 in heels.
