More than a year after being named in a civil lawsuit, Aaron Hall has yet to be formally served with legal papers, according to court filings that describe extensive but unsuccessful efforts to locate the R&B singer. Hall, a central figure in late-’80s and early-’90s R&B as a member of Guy, is named as a defendant in a 2023 lawsuit. Since then, attorneys representing the plaintiff say Hall has effectively vanished from public view, leaving the case stalled at a basic procedural step: service of process. Legal records outline a year-long attempt to find Hall through conventional means. Process servers first targeted a residence in View Park, California, in mid-2024. Those efforts ended quickly when residents at the address confirmed Hall no longer lived there. Follow-up attempts tied to other known locations also failed to produce contact. As the months passed without progress, the situation escalated from routine to unusual. In March 2025, the plaintiff’s legal team asked the court for permission to use service by publication, a measure typically reserved for defendants who cannot be located despite good-faith efforts. If approved, the method would allow legal notices to be printed in widely circulated newspapers and mailed to Hall’s last known addresses. By September 2025, the search widened further. A private investigator was retained to conduct database sweeps and on-the-ground canvassing across parts of Los Angeles County where Hall was previously known to spend time. According to filings, those efforts included checking residential areas, habitual routes, and locations Hall was believed to frequent regularly. Despite at least ten documented attempts across different strategies, no confirmed sightings or viable leads emerged. The investigator reported being unable to establish Hall’s whereabouts or make direct contact, reinforcing claims that Hall has remained inaccessible for more than a year. The lawsuit itself stems from allegations dating back to 1991 and also names Sean “Diddy” Combs as a defendant. However, recent court activity has focused less on the substance of the claims and more on the logistical challenge of moving the case forward without Hall’s participation.
