According To GateCrasher:
A$AP Rocky found no love at the door of Avenue nightclub Tuesday morning, where Rihanna and a slew of other musicians were inside partying.
According to an eyewitness, the Harlem-born rapper arrived at the Chelsea hot spot around 2:45 a.m., about the same time as artists Wale and Meek Mill, who were meeting the “We Found Love” singer inside the club. R&B artist Omarion showed up to the door of the venue simultaneously.
The source tells us each musician had a hefty entourage in tow, but had no trouble sliding past the velvet rope — except for Rocky. Famed doorman Wass Stevens, now on crutches due to a motorcycle accident in January, let the other artists and their groups breeze into the club.
But 23-year-old Rocky, considered by many to be a rising star in hip hop, was stuck outside with a group of “about eight, mostly dudes.” The witness says the rapper “got really angry, and started yelling” at the injured doorman and actor, who kept his cool, but eventually called security to get the rapper to back down.
Rocky “was really upset,” says the source, adding that he watched the other musicians walk right by him into the club. The artist, who recently collaborated on a track with Theophilus London, was not permitted inside after his blowup and eventually stomped off.
The door might have been a hopeless place for the “Big Spender,” but a source tells us Rihanna and friends stayed into the early morning. The 24-year-old was holding court at the farthest table downstairs, near the deejay booth with the musicians who gained entrance.
According to the insider, the Barbados-born beauty was drinking and “wiling out” (hip hop for enthusiastic partying) while dancing atop the banquette to a medley of her own music played by Jermaine Dupri. The source didn’t hear Dupri, the evening’s deejay, play any tunes by Rihanna’s ex-boyfriend and rumored new hookup Chris Brown, however.
Prior to hitting the club, a second source tells us Rihanna stopped by La Pomme on W. 26th St. in the Flatiron District just after midnight. The scantily clad superstar was mobbed by paparazzi on her way in and stayed at the nightclub for an hour before departing. The insider tells us Trey Songz was also inside, but the two musicians did not converse.
Rihanna’s former pastor at her local church in Barbados has reportedly spoken out about her recent hard-partying ways, condemning her late-night lifestyle. Bishop Victor Lowe, a 64-year-old clergyman, has said he is “praying” the singer drops her “bad habits.” From the looks of things, we doubt that will happen any time soon.
A spokeswoman for A$AP Rocky did not return a request for comment by deadline.
It's always like that @ first, but when you blow up you can tell'em
