Fashion designer A$AP Bari will avoid jail time in his federal drug case.
The A$AP Mob co-founder, whose real name is Jabari Shelton, will not have to serve any jail time or be placed on probation after pleading guilty to a single misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession during a recent court appearance in Northampton County, Penn., reports TMZ. He’ll have to pay a $1,000 fine.
Bari’s plea is related to his late November 2018 arrest in Palmer Township, when he was pulled over early one morning after his Mercedes was spotted driving the wrong way.
Upon stopping the car, police smelled marijuana and found 24 circular tins of the drug following a search of the vehicle. Three more tin were found on the designer during a strip search at the police station.
Originally, Bari had been charged with two felonies for possession of a controlled substance and intent to deliver, along with five misdemeanors.
This is Bari’s second guilty plea of the year. In January, he pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault stemming from a July 2017 incident in a London hotel. As part of his plea, he was required to pay a $5,000 along with $3,150 in compensation to the victim in order to avoid jail time.
