50 Cent Reacts To Starz' Financial Struggles

50 Cent has publicly reacted to Starz’ reported financial struggles on social media.. Fif hopped on Instagram to share a now-deleted screenshot of the network’s declining performance along with a message bidding them farewell. “It’s not that hard to say good bye. Bye” he wrote. Fif’s post was in response to the news of the company’s latest financial figures. In the second quarter of 2025, Starz’s streaming subscribers fell from 13.4 million to 12.2 million, while its domestic customers fell by 410,000 to 17.6 million. Starz also saw its overall revenue fall to $319.7 million this year from $247.6 million last year. It posted an operating loss at $27 million, against its previous year operating income of $10.1 million. Starz president and CEO Jeffrey Hirsch blamed the "underperformance" of BMF’s latest season. In May, Starz officially separated from Lionsgate which is also believed to be the reason for the streamer’s struggles. Fif has to feel conflicted about Starz’ struggles because of his relationship with the network. Over the years since he brought the Power and BMF franchises to them, he’s criticized the company for everything from scheduling issues to its renewal announcements. In 2023, the rapper hopped on X to admit that he regrets establishing his TV empire at Starz. “I have the number 1,2,3, and 4 top TV shows in African American, and Latina households,” 50 wrote. “I hate that i did them with the wrong people. I’m not doing any BMF spin offs or selling any other shows to STARZ. The year before that, Fif announced that he was pulling his The Massacre series from Starz because he didn’t want to work with the network. “Hey guys I decided I don’t want to move forward with The Massacre in STARZ production slate,” he wrote on X. “It’s a waste of time and money, and it doesn’t fit the new Premium women’s mandate over there. It was a companion piece with snoops (Murder Was the Case) I'll find a new network better fit to tell my story Lionsgate.”
