50 Cent Reacts To Floyd Maweather’s $340 Million Showtime Lawsuit

50 Cent is responding to Floyd Mayweather’s recent lawsuit. He weighed in on the matter via his Instagram account, where he shared a photo of Mayweather and the story’s headline. “Oh no don’t cry now champ they beat you out of $320 million, you dumb ass [ninja emoji],” Fifty wrote on Tuesday (Feb. 3). “I told you let me read the contracts now lace up, You gotta look good fighting Mike. then maybe we can get Bud to beat your ass for some big money. Mayweather and 50 Cent have been going back and forth with each other for many years. However, Fifty’s latest comments seemingly appear to be a nod to 2014 when the rapper challenged the boxer to read “one full page of a Harry Potter book” in exchange for a $750,000 donation to a charity of his choosing. The following day, Charlamagne tha God aired a clip of Mayweather struggling to read a drop for The Breakfast Club’s home station, Power 105.1. Earlier this week, the 48-year-old boxer filed a complaint against Showtime, alleging that the network played a role in misappropriating an estimated $340 million of his career earnings . In the complaint, Mayweather alleges that his ex-manager, Al Haymon, received "substantial participation and aid" from Showtime and former Showtime Sports president Stephen Espinoza. Mayweather claims that the money is still “missing and unaccounted for. The suit reportedly references several of his biggest fights, including those against Manny Pacquiao and Conor McGregor, alleging that Showtime and Espinoza funneled money owed to Mayweather directly into accounts controlled by Haymon. After switching managers years later, Mayweather says his new team requested access to Showtime's financial records, but the network supposedly claimed they were “lost in a flood” or otherwise inaccessible. Mayweather is suing for aiding and abetting breach of fiduciary duty, civil conspiracy to commit fraud, conversion, and unjust enrichment, while also seeking punitive damages in addition to the $340 million. Haymon is reportedly not named as a defendant in the lawsuit. His attorney, Bobby Samini, says “Floyd is one of boxing’s biggest pay-per-view draws. He generated hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue for Showtime. Mr. Mayweather now takes this fight to the courtroom to recover what he rightfully earned. Retiring undefeated at 50-0, Mr. Mayweather will go the distance in the courtroom just as he has in the ring.
